Ortlieb Mounting Hooks - QL2.1, 16mm

These hooks are specifically for the QL2.1 system. If your older panniers use a different mounting system (e.g., QL1, QL2, QL3), these hooks will not be compatible.

The smallest hook insert provided is 8mm. These hooks are designed for rack rails of 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 16mm diameter (without inserts for 16mm).

Each purchase includes one set of hooks, which contains two 16mm QL2.1 hooks with plastic handles, and one pair each of hook inserts in sizes 8mm, 10mm, and 12mm.

Generally, no special tools are required. You may need a flathead screwdriver or a similar tool to help pry off old hooks or manipulate parts during installation, depending on your specific pannier model.

This product is sold as a complete set including two hooks and multiple insert sizes. You will have spare hooks and inserts if you only need to replace one.

QL2.1 is an updated system that typically offers easier adjustment and a more streamlined look compared to older QL systems. The core function of securely attaching panniers remains, but the mounting mechanism and compatibility can differ.

Use one of the included hook inserts (8mm, 10mm, or 12mm) to create a tighter fit on your bike rack tubing. Try different insert sizes to find the most secure option.

Ensure you are installing the hooks onto the correct rail on the back of the pannier and that the pannier's access panel is fully open or removed during installation.

The plastic handle is designed for easy operation. Avoid excessive force when opening or closing the hooks. If the handle breaks, the hooks can still be operated, albeit with more difficulty.
