Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Connect the AT2040 to your audio interface or mixer using a standard XLR microphone cable.
- Ensure your audio interface/mixer provides phantom power (typically +48V), although dynamic microphones do not require it. It will not harm the AT2040 if phantom power is accidentally engaged.
- Mount the microphone onto a compatible microphone stand or boom arm using the integrated thread.
- Connect your audio interface/mixer to your computer via USB or other appropriate connection.
Compatibility:
The AT2040 uses a standard XLR output, making it compatible with virtually all professional audio interfaces, mixers, and preamplifiers that feature XLR inputs. A headphone output on your interface or mixer is recommended for real-time monitoring.
Care:
- Avoid exposing the microphone to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- Store the microphone in its included carrying case when not in use to protect it from dust and physical damage.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.
- Handle the microphone by its body to avoid transferring vibrations through the stand mount.
