Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The caliper is ready for use out of the box. To set zero, close the jaws completely. If the dial does not read zero, use the adjustment screw located near the dial to align the indicator hand with zero. Ensure the measurement jaws are clean before each use.
Compatibility: This is a mechanical measuring instrument and is compatible with standard workshop practices. It does not require batteries or electronic connections.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the caliper clean with a soft, dry cloth after each use. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution, ensuring no liquid enters the dial mechanism. Always dry thoroughly.
- Storage: Store the caliper in its protective case or a clean, dry drawer to prevent dust accumulation and potential damage.
- Handling: Avoid dropping the caliper or exposing it to excessive force, especially when the jaws are open or closed, to protect the shockproof mechanism and maintain accuracy.
