Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
Installation requires a basic understanding of electrical wiring. Ensure the power supply to your heating system is switched off at the mains before proceeding. The thermostat requires a connection for Live (L), Neutral (N), and the Switched Live (often labelled SL, 1, or similar) from your existing wiring. Consult the thermostat's manual for specific wiring diagrams. Mount the thermostat securely to the wall, ensuring it is at a suitable height for accurate room temperature readings, away from direct heat sources or drafts.
Compatibility:
This thermostat is designed for 230v systems and features a volt-free 3A max output, making it compatible with most standard gas or electric boiler central heating systems. It is crucial to verify that your existing wiring meets the minimum three-wire requirement (Live, Neutral, Switch). Older systems may not have a neutral wire connected at the thermostat location, rendering this unit incompatible without rewiring.
Care:
To clean the thermostat, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the internal components. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents. Periodically check that the thermostat remains securely mounted and that there are no obstructions around its vents.
