Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Le Creuset Stoneware Mug remains a cherished part of your kitchen for years, follow these guidelines for setup, compatibility, and care:
Initial Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the mug from its packaging.
- Wash Before First Use: Hand wash the mug with warm, soapy water or place it in the dishwasher before its initial use.
Compatibility
- Heat Sources: This mug is highly versatile and compatible with microwave ovens, conventional ovens, and grills. This allows for reheating beverages or baking individual portions.
- Dishwasher Safe: Fully compatible with dishwashers for effortless cleaning.
- Temperature Range: Suitable for serving both hot and cold beverages and foods. Its exceptional thermal resistance helps maintain desired temperatures.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: The mug's scratch-resistant enamel makes cleaning simple. For hand washing, use warm soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. For stubborn stains, a paste of baking soda and water can be gently applied, left to sit, and then scrubbed away.
- Dishwasher Use: When using a dishwasher, load the mug securely to prevent it from knocking against other items, which could cause chips.
- Avoid Thermal Shock: While durable, stoneware can be susceptible to thermal shock. Avoid moving the mug directly from a freezer to a hot oven, or from a hot oven to a very cold surface. Allow it to gradually adjust to extreme temperature changes.
- Storage: Store carefully to prevent chipping, especially around the rim. Avoid stacking without protection if possible, or use soft cloths between mugs if stacking is necessary.
