The Spear & Jackson Elements Border Spade is designed for digging and cultivation and is manufactured to exceed the British Standard (BS3388). The Elements range of Digging tools is a firm favourite with gardeners and those who like to Grow their own. The range offers value for money combined with quality, durability and performance. Heat treated and hardened carbon steel head for strength and durability. Hammer finish, powder coated head for improved resistance to rust, scratches, humidity and alkalis in the soil. Durable, clear laquered, weatherproofed ash wood shaft. Integral ergonomic forward tilted handle provide the ideal angle for more comfortable digging. Polypropylene D shaped soft feel handle for extra grip and comfort. Easily exceeds BS3388 load test. Height 950mm, Spade Width 148mm. The Elements Border Spade has a heat treated carbon steel head with a powder coated hammer finish for durability. The shaft is made from ash, which has been weatherproofed with a clear lacquer coating, and is fitted with a polypropylene D handle grip. Border spades have a compact design which is intended for working in confined areas. They are also less physically demanding than larger spades so many people find them more comfortable for general purpose use as well.
