PLAYERS-DISTANCE DESIGN The i540 is engineered to help golfers achieve greater yardage without resorting to an oversized iron profile. By strategically removing mass from the face and cavity construction, Ping has enabled more efficient weight redistribution within the head. In the 4-iron through 7-iron, tungsten is positioned low in the clubhead to lower the center of gravity, promoting faster launch conditions, increased ball speed, and improved stopping power on approach shots. HIGH-FLEX MARAGING-STEEL FACE The forged, variable-thickness maraging-steel face is a cornerstone of the i540's performance. With a construction that is approximately 9% thinner, the face exhibits greater flexibility through impact, contributing to additional speed and carry. Ping has also designed the surrounding transition areas to encourage metal-wood-style flexing, which results in a higher peak trajectory and enhanced distance throughout the set. IN-R-AIR TECHNOLOGY Ping's proprietary inR-Air Technology introduces an internal air pocket situated behind the face within the cavity. This design effectively fine-tunes acoustics and impact sensation by minimizing unwanted vibrations, while simultaneously allowing the face to perform with unrestricted flex.
