Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your Swan Nordic Digital Microwave is simple, and proper care will ensure its longevity and performance.
Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the microwave from its packaging, ensuring all packing materials and accessories (like the turntable and roller ring) are accounted for.
- Placement: Position the microwave on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit: at least 10cm of clear space at the back, 20cm at the top, and 5cm on the sides. Do not block any ventilation openings.
- Turntable Assembly: Place the roller ring in the depression on the microwave floor, then position the glass turntable securely on top of the roller ring.
- Power Connection: Plug the microwave into a standard, grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the specifications on the product label.
Compatibility
This microwave is a 'solo' model, meaning it is designed for heating, reheating, and defrosting. It does not have grill or convection oven functions. It is compatible with standard household electrical outlets and designed for domestic kitchen use.
Care & Maintenance
Regular cleaning and care are essential for maintaining hygiene and optimal performance.
- Interior Cleaning: Immediately wipe up spills with a damp cloth. For tougher stains, use a mild detergent or a microwave-safe cleaner. Never use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals. You can place a bowl of water with lemon slices inside and microwave for a few minutes to loosen food particles and freshen the interior.
- Turntable and Roller Ring: These components can be removed and washed in warm, soapy water, or placed on the top rack of a dishwasher. Ensure they are completely dry before returning them to the microwave.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces, including the digital control panel and rubberised parts, with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid getting water into ventilation openings or electrical components. Do not use chemical cleaners on the rubberised finish as they may cause damage.
- Door Seal: Regularly clean the door seal and surrounding areas to ensure a tight seal and prevent microwave energy leakage. Use a soft, damp cloth.
Safety Note: Always unplug the microwave before cleaning. Do not immerse the microwave in water or any other liquid.
