Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Sowing:
- Outdoors: Sow seeds outdoors from March to July into well-prepared soil in full sun. Sow thinly into drills 1cm (½") deep and 15cm (6") apart. Thin seedlings to 30cm (12") apart.
- Indoors: Sow seeds at 20C (68F) on the surface of free-draining, damp seed compost. Cover with vermiculite and place in a propagator or seal in a polythene bag. Do not exclude light.
- Transplanting: Gradually acclimatise dill plants to outdoor conditions over 7–10 days before planting outdoors in well-drained soil in full sun after the risk of frost has passed.
- Watering: Water regularly, especially during dry periods.
- Sunlight: Ensure plants receive full sun exposure (at least 6 hours daily).
- Soil: Dill prefers well-drained soil.
