Since its release in 2016, the Fish & Fish carafe by Paola Navone has become a bestseller within the Serax collection. Inspired by the herring, this carafe adds and original and fun touch to any table. In addition to the emblematic pale green that was typically found in pressed glass and hugely popular in the U.S. in the 1930s, the Fish & Fish carafe now comes in transparent, pale blue and cobalt blue versions. Creator Paola Navone tends to find inspiration in her travels and her taste for cultures from other countries when it comes to new projects. With Fish & Fish, she took an interest in pieces made during the great depression of the 1930s in the United States. It was in Sandwich, Massachusetts, that utility-focused tableware in moulded glass came to be developed during these turbulent times, mainly coming in 3 colours: jade green (Jadéite), transparent (Depression glass) and white (Milk glass). Great value, resistant and well-designed, this glasswork was commonly found in American homes from 1930 to 1950, and is now loved by countless collectors. Paola Navone breathes life back in with this Fish & Fish collection, which features plates, glasses, jars, carafes, dishes, trays and accessories, all fish-shaped and stamped with Herring bar.
