McAlpine Basin Kit - Square Bottle Trap

The 50mm water seal is a depth of water held within the trap that acts as a barrier to prevent unpleasant sewer gases and odors from escaping up through the drain and into your living space.

Yes, the kit includes an MS4-32SOLVENT fitting which allows you to convert the 32mm European Outlet to fit a standard 1¼" UK pipe size.

Yes, the kit includes a 12" (approximately 300mm) length of 32mm outside diameter chrome-plated brass waste pipe.

Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. For internal cleaning, you may need to unscrew the trap body (ensure water is contained) and clear any debris.

The bottle trap and the included waste pipe are made from chrome-plated brass, offering durability and a polished aesthetic.

The adjustable inlet allows for some flexibility in the angle and length of the pipe connecting to the basin waste, making it easier to align with existing plumbing during installation.

Ensure the trap is installed correctly with the inlet pointing downwards and that there are no leaks allowing water to escape. Check for blockages that might prevent water from pooling properly.

Check that all seals and connections are tight and properly seated. Hand-tighten connections first, then use appropriate tools sparingly to avoid overtightening.

Verify that the 50mm water seal is established. Ensure the trap is not completely dry and that there are no other breaches in the drainage system allowing gases to enter.

Utilize the adjustable inlet for minor adjustments. If significant discrepancies exist, consider using appropriate adaptors or extending the waste pipe, ensuring compatibility with the 32mm OD or 1¼" UK size.
