Ensure you are using the correct tool for the crank type. Check for any debris or damage in the crank's threaded hole. Verify the puller threads are clean and undamaged.

Ensure the puller is fully threaded into the crank. Apply steady, consistent force. If the crank is severely seized, a small amount of penetrating oil applied around the spindle interface may help. Avoid excessive force that could damage the crank.

Make sure the puller is screwed in as far as possible. Ensure the handle is clean and offers a good grip. For very tight cranks, consider using a torque wrench or breaker bar on the handle if space permits and the tool design allows, though this is often not necessary with the integrated handle.
