Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Rotor Replacement: The initial setup involves replacing your bicycle's existing rear disc brake rotor with the included Disk Drive Brake Rotor. This step requires basic bicycle maintenance tools and knowledge.
- Sensor Mounting: Attach the Wireless Dynamic Climb Pedal Sensor to your crank arm.
- Drive Unit Attachment: Once the rotor is installed, simply align the Skarper Drive Unit with the rotor and click it into place. The system is designed for a secure, tool-free attachment.
- Pairing: Ensure the sensor and drive unit are paired via Bluetooth as per the user manual.
Compatibility:
The Skarper system is designed to be compatible with most standard bicycles featuring disc brakes. Ensure your bicycle's frame has adequate clearance for the Disk Drive rotor and motor unit. Consult the official Skarper website or user manual for detailed compatibility specifications and potential limitations.
Care:
- Cleaning: Clean the Skarper Drive Unit and Disk Drive rotor with a damp cloth. Avoid high-pressure water jets or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the unit is detached before cleaning.
- Storage: Store the Skarper Drive Unit in a dry, cool place when not in use. If storing for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged.
- Maintenance: The Disk Drive sealed gearbox rotor is maintenance-free. The brushless motor and integrated battery are also designed for long-term, low-maintenance operation. Regular cleaning and checking connections are recommended.
