Setup, Compatibility & Care
For optimal results, ensure the hooks are installed into pressure-treated 4-inch timber.
- Mark the desired height for the fence wire on your end post.
- Drill a pilot hole to reduce the risk of splitting the wood.
- Screw the hook in by hand or with a wrench until the collar reaches the post surface.
- Ensure the hook opening is facing the direction of the wire pull for maximum security.
To care for these components, inspect them annually for signs of movement or loosening due to wood shrinkage. Because of the galvanized coating, they require no painting or specialized maintenance; however, a quick spray with a silicone lubricant can help prevent oxidation in extreme saltwater environments.
