240 grit is considered a fine grit, ideal for final sanding stages to create a very smooth surface, preparing wood for paint, varnish, or stain. It removes minor imperfections left by coarser grits.

This set includes 10 sanding sheets.

The sanding sheets measure 93 x 185 mm.

These sheets are designed for Bosch orbital sanders that accept 93 x 185 mm sheets with 8 pre-drilled holes for dust extraction. Always check your sander's specifications.

While it can remove very thin layers of paint, 240 grit is not aggressive enough for efficiently removing thick paint or varnish. Coarser grits (like 80 or 100) are better suited for that task.

The 8 holes are designed to align with the dust extraction ports on compatible orbital sanders, allowing for efficient collection of dust during sanding, leading to a cleaner work area and a smoother finish.

Sanding sheets are generally considered consumable and are not designed to be washed or reused once the abrasive has worn down or become clogged with dust.

Ensure the hook-and-loop (velcro) pad on your sander is clean and undamaged. Make sure the sanding sheet is pressed firmly and evenly onto the pad.

Verify that the holes on the sanding sheet are aligned with the dust extraction ports on your sander. Check that the dust bag or vacuum connection is clear of blockages.

Confirm you are using the correct grit for the task. For faster material removal, a coarser grit is needed. For fine finishing, 240 grit is appropriate, but may seem slow if the surface is still rough.

Avoid applying excessive pressure, as this can wear down the abrasive prematurely. Ensure you are not sanding on sharp edges or excessively hard materials that can clog or strip the grit.
