Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Ensure the ST and LC connectors on both ends of the cable are clean before connecting to your network devices. Connect the ST connector to the corresponding port on one device and the LC connector to the port on the other device. The duplex nature means two fibers are used for transmission and reception; ensure both are connected correctly.
Compatibility: This cable is compatible with network devices featuring ST and LC fiber optic ports. It is designed for multimode applications and should be used with other OM3 or lower-grade multimode fiber (OM1, OM2) equipment. Ensure your transceivers (e.g., SFP modules) are rated for multimode fiber and the desired speed.
Care: Fibre optic cables are sensitive to dust and physical stress. Store the cable away from high traffic areas to prevent accidental damage. When not in use, cover the connector ends with protective caps. Avoid sharp bends (typically a bend radius of 30mm or more is recommended) which can degrade signal performance. Cleaning connector end-faces with specialized fibre optic cleaning tools and solutions is recommended if signal issues arise.
