The HPE Smart Storage Battery is a lithium-ion low-halogen centralized backup source required to back up write cache content onto flash memory on HPE Smart Array Gen10 and Gen9 performance RAID (P-class) controllers in case of an unplanned server power loss. It also serves as the backup power source for HPE NVDIMMS, allowing data in flight on DRAM to be moved to non-volatile NAND flash. A single battery is sufficient per server, as it can support multiple devices. Device compatibility includes Servers, with Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery technology. Brand compatibility is HP. Dimensions are 57.1 mm width, 190.5 mm depth, and 241.3 mm height.
