The Boa is a high volume carabiner with a large gate opening and extended top bar, making it easy to clip with thick ropes and slings, and allowing it to accommodate multiple attachments. Its asymmetric shape sits naturally in the hand for easy handling, and I-Beam construction means that despite its large size, the Boa is still relatively light. The heavy duty version of the 25k N Boa looks very similar, but is hot forged from 14mm rather than 12mm bar to give it the 30k N major axis rating required for rescue loads. The massive curved basket copes with even the busiest rigging set up and still allows devices to settle comfortably. The impressive size and ergonomics ensure it can be operated by even the largest hands with the chunkiest of gloves. DMM's patented Taperlock closing mechanism increases gate push-in and cross gate strength using a special flared profile on the nose of the carabiner, as well as allowing a snag free connection for your ropes, slings and devices.
