FAQs

How often should I use Colgate Total Teeth Whitening Toothpaste?

For optimal results and to benefit from its 12-hour protection, you should brush thoroughly with Colgate Total Teeth Whitening Toothpaste twice a day, every day, for two minutes each time.

Is this toothpaste suitable for people with sensitive teeth?

Yes, this toothpaste is formulated to provide sensitivity relief by soothing and strengthening sensitive areas of enamel. Consistent use helps to build and maintain this protection.

Does this toothpaste replace the need for flossing or mouthwash?

While Colgate Total provides comprehensive antibacterial protection and fights bad breath, it is designed to be part of a complete oral hygiene routine. It complements, rather than replaces, other practices like daily flossing and using a mouthwash, if recommended by your dentist.

How long does it take to see whitening results?

Whitening results, which involve the removal of surface stains, are gradual. You may begin to notice a difference in the brightness of your smile after a few weeks of consistent, twice-daily use.

Can children use this Colgate Total Teeth Whitening Toothpaste?

For children 6 years of age and older, use a pea-sized amount and supervise their brushing to minimize swallowing. For children under 6, please consult a dentist or physician before use.

What are the main active ingredients in this toothpaste?

The main active ingredients are stannous fluoride and sodium fluoride, which work together to provide antibacterial protection, strengthen enamel, and help remove surface stains for whiter teeth.

Troubleshooting

Teeth don't appear whiter after a short period of use.

Whitening with this toothpaste is a gradual process focused on removing surface stains. Consistent use for several weeks, brushing twice daily for two minutes each time, is necessary for noticeable results. For more dramatic whitening, consult your dental professional about other options.

Experiencing slight gum irritation after using the toothpaste.

Ensure you are brushing gently and not too vigorously. If the irritation persists, you may be brushing too hard or have an underlying oral health issue. Consult a dental professional. Discontinue use if irritation becomes severe.

The toothpaste doesn't foam as much as other brands.

The level of foam does not indicate the effectiveness of the toothpaste. Colgate Total uses specific active ingredients, like stannous fluoride, that provide comprehensive protection without necessarily producing excessive foam. Focus on thorough brushing, not just foam.
