Engineer Cable Shears - PK-51

The ENGINEER PK-51 Cable Shears are designed to cut cables, cords, and ropes up to 9mm in diameter.

These shears are designed for cutting, not stripping. While they can cut solid copper wire with the front jaws, they do not have a stripping function.

The unique curved jaw design works in conjunction with the high leverage to create a clean shear action, minimizing deformation and fraying of the material's end.

The shears are primarily designed for cables, cords, and ropes. The front jaws are suitable for solid copper wire, but they are not intended for cutting harder metals like steel wire or cables with steel reinforcement.

Keep the jaws clean and dry. Periodically lubricate the pivot point with light machine oil. Store them in a dry environment to prevent rust.

The heavy-duty jaws are made of hardened carbon steel with a hardness of HRC58 +/-4, ensuring durability and a long-lasting cutting edge.

These shears are made in Japan, reflecting a commitment to high-quality manufacturing standards.

Clean the pivot area and jaws. Apply a drop of light machine oil to the pivot point and work the handles a few times.

Ensure the correct jaw is being used for the material. Verify the material is within the 9mm diameter limit. Check if the jaws are clean and free from debris. For very hard materials, the jaws might be dulling and require sharpening or replacement.

Confirm the material is suitable for these shears (cable, cord, rope up to 9mm). Ensure the material is fully seated in the appropriate jaw. Check for any debris lodged between the jaws. If the problem persists, the hardened steel jaws may need professional sharpening or replacement.
