Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Drill a 6mm diameter hole into the substrate. Ensure the hole depth is at least 35mm.
- Clean the dust from the drilled hole.
- Insert the Forgefix Hammer Fixing into the hole until the head is flush with the surface.
- Using a hammer, strike the head of the fixing firmly to drive the screw nail into the plug, securing the item.
Compatibility:
- Substrates: Suitable for solid masonry such as concrete, brick, and blockwork.
- Tools: Requires a 6mm drill bit, a hammer, and a PZ2 screwdriver (for potential removal).
- Maximum Fixing Thickness: Can accommodate a maximum thickness of 35mm for the item being fixed.
Care:
These fixings are designed for single-use, permanent installation. While the zinc yellow passivation offers some protection, they are best used in dry, protected environments. For exposed or highly corrosive conditions, alternative fixings may be more appropriate. No specific maintenance is required for the fixings themselves once installed.
