Spot-clean the cage daily and perform a thorough cleaning at least once a week. This includes replacing bedding and cleaning all surfaces.

Use pet-safe bedding like paper-based bedding or wood shavings. Avoid cedar or pine shavings as they can be harmful to hamsters.

Provide a balanced hamster food mix and fresh water daily, preferably from a sipper bottle attached to the cage.

Introduce new accessories gradually so your hamster can get used to them. Observe your hamster's behavior and make adjustments as needed.

Ensure the running wheel is the appropriate size and has a solid surface to prevent injuries to your hamster's feet.

It is not recommended to house multiple hamsters in a single cage unless they are siblings or have been raised together from a young age. Even then, watch for signs of aggression and provide separate cages if necessary.

Ensure the grid is securely attached to the tray. Check for any gaps or damage and repair or replace the cage if necessary.

Provide plenty of chew toys to redirect this behavior. Consider upgrading to a cage with a more durable construction.

Clean the cage more frequently. Consider using a cage cleaner specifically designed to neutralize odors.

Ensure the cage is in an engaging environment and consider adding more toys or accessories to stimulate activity.
