Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of the RV30YN20S requires basic soldering skills. The three terminals are clearly marked and should be connected according to your circuit design: the center terminal is the wiper, while the two outer terminals connect across your supply voltage. When mounting, ensure the chassis hole is sized to accommodate the threaded mounting shaft. To maintain longevity, avoid applying excessive side-load force to the 6mm shaft during adjustment, as this can wear the internal wiper contact over time. Keep the unit clean and dry; if the potentiometer becomes scratchy or noisy during adjustment over years of use, a small amount of high-quality electronics-grade contact cleaner can be applied to the interior, though the unit is generally maintenance-free.
