The Varilight 13A Socket (XDQ5WS) is an ideal choice for homeowners and professionals seeking a high-quality, 2-gang electrical outlet that combines reliability with a modern aesthetic. Part of the Dimension range, it features a screwless, ultra-slim profile that sits flush against the wall, providing a clean and professional look for any interior. While its minimalist design offers significant visual appeal, users should note that the screwless faceplate requires careful handling during installation to prevent accidental scratching or misalignment.

Yes, it is designed for use with standard 2-gang UK electrical wall boxes.
It means the switch breaks both the live and neutral connections, providing a safer isolation for the appliance connected.
It is not recommended to paint the faceplate as it may clog the mechanism or ruin the finish. The plate comes in a pre-finished gloss ice white.
This is a 13-amp socket, suitable for standard household appliances.
There is a small notch on the side of the plate where you can gently insert a flat-blade screwdriver to pop the screwless cover off.
Check that the mounting box is not protruding from the wall surface and ensure that all wires are tucked neatly behind the unit.
Ensure that the faceplate is perfectly aligned and that no debris is trapped in the switch mechanism.
Installation of the XDQ5WS should be performed by a qualified electrician or a competent person in accordance with local building regulations. Ensure the power is completely isolated at the consumer unit before beginning work. The unit is designed to fit standard UK double-gang back boxes. For care, use only a soft, dry microfiber cloth to wipe the surface. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, polishes, or solvents, as these can permanently damage the gloss finish of the faceplate. If you need to remove the faceplate for painting or maintenance, use a small flat-head screwdriver gently in the designated notch to pry the cover off without bending the tabs.
