Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
This watch features an automatic movement, meaning it winds itself through the motion of your wrist. To start the watch if it has stopped, gently shake it for about 30 seconds or manually wind the crown by turning it clockwise (while it's in the closed position) until you feel resistance. Avoid over-winding.
Strap Compatibility
The watch comes with two additional straps: a green leather strap and a green textile NATO strap. Both are designed for easy, tool-free interchangeability using the quick-release spring bars. Ensure the spring bar clicks securely into place when attaching a strap.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the stainless steel case and bracelet regularly with a soft, damp cloth. For the straps, wipe the leather strap with a dry cloth and the textile strap with mild soap and water, allowing them to air dry completely.
- Water Resistance: After any exposure to salt water, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly. It is recommended to have the water resistance tested annually, especially if regularly submerged.
- Avoidance: Protect the watch from strong magnetic fields (beyond the Nivachron™ hairspring's capabilities), direct impacts, and extreme temperatures. For accurate timekeeping, avoid exposing the watch to significant magnetic sources like speakers or refrigerators.
- Servicing: For optimal performance, it is advisable to have the watch serviced by an authorized Rado service center every 3-5 years.
