Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility: This diverter kit is designed for standard 68mm round or 65mm square plastic downpipes. It is *not* compatible with cast iron downpipes.
Setup Instructions:
- Prepare Water Butt: Remove the lid of your water butt. If it doesn't have a pre-drilled hole, drill a 25mm hole on the side closest to the downpipe, near the top.
- Install Connector: From inside the water butt, push the 20mm connector through the drilled hole. Fit the washer on the outside, followed by the nut. Tighten the nut to create a secure seal.
- Position Water Butt: Place the water butt in its intended location, ensuring it aligns with the downpipe.
- Mark Downpipe: Measure and mark the downpipe. Mark a point 10mm below the top edge of the water butt, and then make a second mark 30mm below the first.
- Cut Downpipe: Carefully cut out the section of the downpipe between these two marks.
- Fit Diverter: Insert the square end of the rain diverter into the cut section of the downpipe, ensuring it is oriented upwards. Reattach any supporting clips if removed.
- Connect Hose: Attach the 500mm hose between the outlet on the rain diverter body and the connector on your water butt.
- Adjust Level: After sufficient rainfall has filled the butt, check the water level. If it overflows, raise the water butt. If the level is too low, lower the water butt.
Care: Regularly check the diverter and hose for debris or blockages to ensure optimal performance. Wipe clean with a damp cloth if necessary.
