The Laser Tools Easy Flow Pump (8955) is designed for mechanics and DIY enthusiasts needing an efficient way to transfer engine oil, gear oil, and transmission fluid (ATF). Its key benefit is a robust flow rate of 70cc per stroke, combined with versatile drum adaptors for different container types. A potential consideration is its specific fitting for 2 ¼” threaded drums, though an adaptor is included for common 20L plastic drums.

This pump is suitable for engine oil, gear oil, and automatic transmission fluid (ATF).
It is designed for 2 ¼” threaded drums and includes an 88RA adaptor for 20L plastic oil drums. An additional adaptor kit (Part No. 7622) is available for other sizes.
The pump delivers a flow rate of 70cc per stroke.
The included PVC hose is 127cm (50 inches) long.
After emptying, run a small amount of clean solvent or a compatible cleaner through the pump and hose to remove residual oil. Allow it to dry before storing.
While designed for automotive oils, its suitability for other non-corrosive fluids would depend on their viscosity and chemical compatibility with Nylon, Steel, Aluminium, and PVC. Always check fluid compatibility if deviating from intended use.
It comes with an 88RA drum adaptor for 20L plastic drums. The adaptor for 2 ¼” threaded drums is integrated into the pump's design. Other adaptors may need to be purchased separately.
Ensure the intake end of the hose is fully submerged in the fluid. Check for any kinks or blockages in the hose. Verify that the pump is creating a seal with the drum or adaptor.
Check for air leaks around the pump and hose connections. Ensure the fluid is not excessively thick or cold, as this can affect flow. Clean the pump mechanism if debris is suspected.
Tighten the pump connection to the drum or adaptor. Inspect the seals on the adaptor and hose connections for damage and replace if necessary.
Ensure the pump is not obstructed. Check for blockages within the pump mechanism. If transferring very cold or thick oil, warming the oil slightly may improve performance.
