JCB Masonry Drill Bit - 6 x 100mm

This bit can be used in a standard cordless drill, but it will perform significantly better in a drill with a hammer action function when working with dense masonry.

This is a masonry bit intended for concrete and brick. It is likely to crack ceramic or porcelain tile; specialized glass and tile bits should be used for those materials.

The 135-degree angle provides a wider, sharper cutting edge that bites into the material faster, reducing the amount of torque and battery power required from your drill.

While the carbide tip can theoretically be touched up, it is a complex process requiring specialized diamond equipment. In most cases, the bit should be replaced once the carbide becomes dull.

The bit has a total length of 100mm, though your effective drilling depth will be slightly less to allow for the shank to be secured in the drill chuck.

Reduce the drill speed and apply less forward pressure. Ensure you are removing the bit from the hole frequently to clear dust.

Ensure the drill bit is fully seated in the chuck and check that the depth gauge on your drill is not set too shallow.

Ensure the 135-degree tip is positioned firmly against the material before engaging the trigger, or use a center punch to create a small dimple first.
