Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Ensure the water butt is placed on a firm, level surface, ideally against a suitable wall. Use the mounting points (if provided with your specific kit) or ensure it is securely positioned to prevent tipping. Attach a tap or quick-release coupling to one of the two threaded holes. A downpipe diverter (sold separately) is recommended for efficient filling from a roof gutter system. Ensure an overflow mechanism is in place to prevent overfilling.
Compatibility: Compatible with standard garden taps and quick-release hose couplings. Designed to connect to standard household downpipes, potentially requiring a downpipe diverter kit.
Care: Clean the exterior periodically with a mild soap and water solution using a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Regularly check and clear any debris from the inlet or any attached diverter to maintain optimal performance. Ensure the butt is emptied or protected during freezing weather to prevent damage.
