The SIP 12 x 36-inch Swivel Head Wood Lathe is an ideal solution for those seeking a robust and adaptable lathe for woodturning. Crucial to a functioning workshop, this machine tool allows a woodturner to accurately shape, turn, drill, and sand workpieces to the desired specification. For added functionality, a 360° swivel headstock with four locking positions is fitted to allow outboard turning of larger wood materials. The lathe bed, headstock, and tailstock are manufactured to a professional finish from heavy-duty cast iron. Pressed steel legs with cross braces also help to maintain stability. The headstock has an MT1 taper and the tailstock an MT2 taper, alongside a variable speed motor which runs between 500 RPM and 2000 RPM. The easy-change speed handle has 10 settings and a digital readout speed display for greater turning control. Supplied with tool rest, 6-inch faceplate, drive and tailstock centres. Applications and uses: perfect for turning furniture legs, staircase spindles, and bespoke woodwork items. Accurately turns, shapes, drills, and sands workpieces to the desired specification. Suitable for soft and hardwoods. 3/4 inch x 16 TPI spindle thread size: allows the use of various turning attachments. 300 mm max. turning diameter (900 mm between centres): enables a variety of woodwork projects and jobs. 360° swivel headstock with 4 lock positions: allows for outboard turning of larger wood materials. Heavy-duty cast iron lathe bed & pressed steel legs: ensure greater turning stability and accuracy. Cast iron MT1 headstock & MT2 tailstock: for an assured hold to the workpiece when turning.
