The Freefoam 225mm Fascia Capping Board is designed for homeowners and professional contractors looking to upgrade or replace roofline aesthetics with a durable, low-maintenance solution. Featuring a sophisticated Agate Grey woodgrain finish, this board provides a clean, modern look while protecting existing sound timber or new backing boards from the elements. While the product offers excellent structural integrity and aesthetic appeal, it requires precise measurement and the use of appropriate fixings to ensure a secure, long-lasting installation.

No. The existing timber must be sound. If it is rotten, you must remove it and install new structural backing timber before fitting the capping board.
You will need a fine-tooth saw, a hammer, stainless steel plastic-headed nails, a tape measure, and a level.
The board can be easily cut using a standard fine-tooth handsaw or a power saw with a blade suitable for plastic.
The material is designed to be highly UV-resistant, though like all outdoor building materials, very long-term exposure may result in minor natural weathering.
It is not recommended, as the factory-applied woodgrain finish is designed for durability. Painting may void the warranty and lead to peeling.
Check that fixings are not over-tightened and that sufficient expansion gaps were left at joints.
Verify that high-grade stainless steel pins were used; non-stainless fixings will corrode and stain the PVC finish.
Inspect the substrate for debris or uneven surfaces; use a planer or packing piece to level the backing surface before final fixing.
Setup: Before installation, ensure the existing timber is dry and free of rot. If the timber is uneven, install a new backing board to provide a level surface for the capping board. Always leave a small expansion gap (typically 3-5mm) at board ends if joining multiple pieces, as PVC reacts to temperature changes.
Compatibility: This board is compatible with standard gutter bracket systems that mount to the fascia. Ensure you use color-matched stainless steel nails to prevent rust streaking.
Care: The board is virtually maintenance-free. Clean occasionally using a soft cloth and a mild soap-and-water solution. Avoid abrasive scourers or harsh chemical solvents, as these may damage the woodgrain finish.
