Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These brushes require no assembly. Upon receiving, inspect them for any loose packaging material. For the first use, it's recommended to lightly run your fingers through the bristles to remove any residual dust or manufacturing particles.
Compatibility: The KINGORIGIN paint brush set is compatible with various common paint formulations, including:
- Latex and Water-Based Paints
- Oil-Based Paints
- Varnishes
- Acrylic Paints
- Gesso (Primers)
Care: Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for extending the life of your brushes and ensuring optimal performance:
- For Water-Based Paints (Latex, Acrylics): Immediately after use, wash the brushes thoroughly with warm water and soap. Gently work the lather through the bristles, rinse until the water runs clear, and reshape the bristles with your fingers.
- For Oil-Based Paints and Varnishes: Use the appropriate solvent (e.g., mineral spirits, turpentine) to clean the brushes. Apply the solvent, work it through the bristles, and wipe clean with a rag. Repeat with clean solvent until all paint residue is removed. Follow up with warm water and soap. Rinse thoroughly and reshape.
- Drying: After washing, gently squeeze out excess water. Hang the brushes bristles-down to dry, or lay them flat. Avoid standing them bristles-up, as this can cause water to seep into the ferrule and loosen the glue.
- Storage: Once completely dry, store brushes in a clean, dry place. Hanging them or placing them in a brush case can help maintain bristle shape and prevent damage.
