The cable standard provides performance of up to 600MHz and is suitable for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet), 1000BASE-T / 1000BASE-TX (Gigabit Ethernet) and 10GBASE-T (10 Gigabit Ethernet). It is backwards compatible with previous standards such as Cat6, Cat5e and Cat5. LSZH: low Smoke Zero Halogen cable reduces the amount of toxic and corrosive gas emitted during a fire. Supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet / 10GBASE-T: 10 Times faster than Gigabit Ethernet, 10GE (also called 10GbE or 10 GigE) supports a data rate of 10Gbits/s (billion bits per second). S/FTP (or S/STP): Screened and Foil (Shielded) Twisted Pair. Each individual pair is screened by foil and features an overall outer sheath. This shielding protects the cable from EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference). Snagless Connectors: The connectors feature a “bubble” which protects the locking clip on the RJ45 from damage or being snapped off during transport or installation. Flush Moulded Strain Relief: The flush moulded design allows the patch cables to be installed side by side in high-density network switches. The strain relief allows the cables to move without damaging the cable or breaking away from the connector while it is plugged in a device This product has been tested and found to comply with the applicable electrical transmission characteristics specified in: ISO/IEC 11801 ED.2 and ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 IEC 60332-1-2, RoHS Compliant and 3P Verified

FAQs
What is the main advantage of Cat6a over Cat6?
Cat6a is designed to reliably support 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GBASE-T) over longer distances (up to 100 meters) compared to Cat6, which is typically limited to 37-55 meters for 10GbE. Cat6a also offers better performance at higher frequencies (600 MHz vs 250 MHz).
What does S/FTP (S-STP) mean for this cable?
S/FTP (Screened/Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair) or S-STP (Screened/Shielded Twisted Pair) means that each individual pair of wires inside the cable is wrapped in foil shielding, and the entire bundle of pairs is also wrapped in an overall braided or foil shield. This provides superior protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and crosstalk.
Is this cable suitable for standard Gigabit Ethernet?
Yes, this Cat6a cable is fully backward compatible and will work perfectly with Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) connections. It offers higher performance than required, ensuring excellent signal quality.
What is LSZH and why is it important?
LSZH stands for Low Smoke Zero Halogen. Cables with LSZH jackets are designed to emit minimal smoke and no toxic halogens when exposed to fire, making them safer for use in public buildings, data centers, and other enclosed spaces where air quality is a concern.
Can I use this 20m cable with a standard Cat5e router?
Yes, you can use this Cat6a cable with a Cat5e router. The connection will operate at the maximum speed supported by the Cat5e standard (typically Gigabit Ethernet), as the router will limit the overall speed.
How does the snagless connector help?
The snagless boot on the RJ45 connector has a protruding "bubble" that protects the locking tab. This prevents the tab from catching on surfaces during insertion or removal, reducing the risk of the tab breaking off and ensuring the cable stays securely connected.
Will the yellow color affect performance?
No, the color of the cable jacket does not affect its electrical performance or data transfer capabilities. The yellow color is for identification and aesthetic purposes.
Troubleshooting
No network connection
Verify both ends of the cable are securely plugged into the correct ports. Check if the connected devices are powered on and configured for network operation. Test with a known working cable to rule out device issues.
Slow network speeds
Ensure the cable is fully Cat6a standard and that both connected devices support speeds higher than Gigabit Ethernet. Check if the cable is damaged, kinked, or excessively bent. Verify that the network equipment itself is not a bottleneck.
Intermittent connection drops
Inspect the cable for physical damage, particularly near the connectors. Ensure the cable is not routed too close to sources of strong electromagnetic interference. Check the snagless boots and strain relief for any damage.
Connector clip broken
The snagless boot is designed to protect the clip; however, if damage occurs, the cable may still function but will be less secure. Replace the cable if the connection is unreliable due to the broken clip.
Pros and Cons
Pros
Provides robust protection against EMI with S/FTP shielding for stable data transfer.
Supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet speeds, ideal for high-performance networking needs.
LSZH jacket enhances safety by reducing toxic gas emission in case of fire.
Snagless connectors and flush strain relief simplify installation and protect against damage.
Backward compatible with older Ethernet standards for wider usability.
Cons
Cat6a specification may be overkill for basic home networking needs.
S/FTP cables can be slightly stiffer and more difficult to route than unshielded cables.
Higher cost compared to Cat5e or standard Cat6 cables.
Requires compatible Cat6a or higher network equipment to achieve maximum speed benefits.
Yellow color might not fit all aesthetic requirements for cable management.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Identify the RJ45 ports on your network devices (e.g., router, switch, computer, server).
Plug one end of the Cat6a cable into a port on the first device.
Plug the other end into a port on the second device.
Ensure the connectors click securely into place. The snagless boot protects the clip during insertion.
Compatibility:
Network Standards: Compatible with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet), 1000BASE-T/TX (Gigabit Ethernet), and 10GBASE-T (10 Gigabit Ethernet).
Backward Compatibility: Works with Cat6, Cat5e, and Cat5 network ports, though speeds will be limited by the lowest standard in the connection.
Connectors: Uses standard RJ45 connectors, compatible with virtually all Ethernet ports.
Care:
Cleaning: Gently wipe the cable jacket and connectors with a dry or slightly damp, soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
Storage: Store the cable loosely coiled (avoiding tight bends or kinks) in a dry environment when not in use.
Installation: Avoid sharp bends, crushing, or excessive pulling on the cable to prevent internal damage to the conductors or shielding.
Connectors: Protect the RJ45 connectors from dust and debris. Ensure the locking clips are functional before use.
