It works by detecting and monitoring body heat in an area, and when the area becomes vacant, the switch will turn off after a chosen and adjustable duration (10 seconds to 15 minutes). Perfect for use in toilets, warehouses, and corridors to reduce electricity usage and save money on energy bills. It is suitable for use with LED lights, fluorescent lights, incandescent lamps, energy-saving lamps, or fans. This light switch can be used as a replacement or new switch with a 250V rated consumer unit (fuse box) as found in most UK houses. It can be mounted to a wall or ceiling via the supplied fixing screws and thanks to its IP44 Rating, it can be installed outdoors or in bathrooms. If required, more than one of these PIR switches can be linked in parallel to make a circuit live, which could be useful at the top and bottom of a staircase or in a larger space when all lights in that space need to be turned on at the same time, no matter where motion is detected. The front cap can be twisted off for easy access to the lux and timer controls, unlike many other occupancy sensors that require complete un-installation. With this occupancy sensor, the timer constantly resets as long as someone is within the sensor's range, meaning lights only turn off when no movement has been detected for the selected period. The lux setting allows lights to turn on only when the ambient light level falls below a certain point and motion is detected, preventing lights from turning on during the day. Timer settings include: 10 Seconds, 30 Seconds, 90 Seconds, 3 Minutes, 7 Minutes, or 15 minutes. This kit includes wall/ceiling mounting screws. There are 2 blowout holes with weatherproof glands on the back and easy-access screw terminals for quick and safe installation of power cables. Detection Radius: 360 Degrees, Detection Range: 6m Max (<24°C), Installation Height: 2.2m to 4m, Lux Settings: 3 Lux to 2000 Lux, Time Delays: Minimum 10 seconds, maximum 15 Minutes, Maximum Load: 600W LED, IP Rating: IP44, Power Source: 110-240V AC, Power Frequency: 50/60Hz, Guarantee: 2 Years, Dimensions: 90mm (diameter) x 50mm (Height), Standards: ROHS.

FAQs
What is the maximum load this sensor can handle?
The maximum load for this sensor is 600W, suitable for most lighting and fan applications.
Can this sensor be used outdoors?
Yes, with its IP44 rating, it is suitable for outdoor installation and also in bathrooms and other wet areas.
How do I adjust the time delay?
The time delay can be adjusted by twisting off the front cap to access the control dial. Settings range from 10 seconds to 15 minutes.
What is the detection range and angle?
The sensor has a 360-degree detection radius with a maximum range of 6 meters at temperatures below 24°C.
Can I link multiple sensors together?
Yes, more than one of these PIR switches can be linked in parallel to cover larger areas or multiple entry points.
What types of lights can I use with this switch?
It is compatible with LED lights, fluorescent lights, incandescent lamps, and energy-saving lamps.
How do I set the sensor to only activate when it's dark?
Adjust the lux setting. Turning the dial towards higher lux values will require more ambient light before the sensor activates, effectively preventing daytime activation.
What is the warranty period for this product?
The product comes with a 2-year guarantee.
Troubleshooting
Light does not turn on when motion is detected.
Check power supply. Ensure the lux setting is low enough for the current ambient light level. Verify that motion is within the 6m detection range and 360-degree radius. Confirm wiring is correct.
Light stays on constantly.
Check the timer setting; ensure it's not set to its maximum duration and that there isn't continuous motion detected. Verify the lux setting isn't preventing the sensor from detecting darkness.
Light turns off too quickly.
Adjust the timer delay to a longer duration (up to 15 minutes). Ensure continuous or frequent movement is present if the area is continuously occupied.
Sensor is not detecting motion in a large area.
Consider linking another compatible PIR switch in parallel to extend the detection coverage. Ensure the sensor is mounted at the recommended height (2.2m-4m).
Sensor activates during daylight.
Adjust the lux setting to a higher value. This will require a lower ambient light level before the sensor will activate.
Pros and Cons
Pros
Reduces energy consumption and saves on electricity bills.
IP44 rating allows for installation in various indoor and outdoor locations, including bathrooms.
Adjustable timer and lux settings provide flexibility for different environments.
Can be linked with other sensors for expanded coverage.
Easy to adjust settings without complete removal.
Cons
Detection range is limited to 6 meters, which may not be sufficient for very large open spaces.
Requires manual adjustment for optimal performance based on ambient light and desired timeout.
Installation height recommendations need to be followed for optimal detection.
Primary function is occupancy sensing; does not include manual override functionality in its standard setup.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Wiring: The switch connects to a 110-240V AC power source. Ensure power is disconnected before installation. Use the easy-access screw terminals and weatherproof glands on the back for secure cable connections.
Mounting: Mount the sensor to a wall or ceiling using the supplied fixing screws. For optimal detection, aim for an installation height between 2.2m and 4m.
Configuration: Twist off the front cap to access and adjust the Lux (ambient light sensitivity) and Time Delay (duration lights stay on after vacancy) controls.
Compatibility:
Suitable for use with LED lights, fluorescent lights, incandescent lamps, energy-saving lamps, and fans.
Maximum load: 600W.
Compatible with 250V rated consumer units (UK standard fuse boxes).
Can be linked in parallel with other compatible PIR switches.
Care:
Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Ensure the sensor lens remains clear of dust or obstructions for optimal performance.
Periodically check wiring connections for security.
