FAQs
Can I use this for heavy sets of house keys?
This unit is designed for lightweight items like security fobs and ID cards; heavy keys may prevent the cord from retracting properly.
Is the stainless steel water-resistant?
The stainless steel construction is resistant to rust from light moisture, but it should be dried thoroughly if exposed to rain or spills.
How many units come in a package?
The product includes 2 retractable units per pack.
Will this damage my clothing?
The clip is designed to be smooth, but as with any metal clip, it is best to test it on delicate fabrics to prevent snagging.
Can I attach an ID badge holder?
Yes, this is an ideal use case for the retractable chain, allowing for easy badge swiping at card readers.
Troubleshooting
Cord does not retract fully
Ensure there is no debris inside the housing and check that the weight of the attached item does not exceed the spring's tension capacity.
Clip feels loose on belt
Adjust the angle of the clip or move it to a thicker part of the fabric to ensure a tighter, more secure grip.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To set up your APS Retractable Key Chain, simply slide the clip over your belt or the edge of your clothing pocket until it is seated firmly. Use a split ring or small carabiner to attach your security fobs or ID card holders to the end of the retractable cord.
To ensure longevity:
- Clean regularly: Wipe the stainless steel surface with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt or fingerprints.
- Avoid over-extension: Do not pull the cord to its absolute maximum limit consistently, as this can fatigue the internal spring.
- Check connections: Periodically inspect the attachment point where your keys meet the cord to ensure there is no fraying or wear.
