The Tommee Tippee First Cup is an ideal training tool for babies transitioning from bottles or breastfeeding to open-cup drinking. It is designed for parents who want to encourage independent sipping skills through a free-flow spout mechanism, though the free-flow design means it is not strictly leak-proof when the spout is open, requiring supervision during initial learning stages.

It features a flip-down cover that makes it spill-free when closed, but it is a free-flow cup, meaning it will leak if it is tipped over while the spout is in the open position.
It is generally suitable for babies aged 4 months and up who are beginning to show interest in independent drinking.
While the cup materials are durable, microwaving is not recommended as it can cause hot spots in the liquid that could burn a baby's mouth.
The handles are integrated into the design to assist with grip and are not designed to be removed from the cup body.
Yes, all Tommee Tippee First Cups are free from BPA, BPS, PVC, Phthalate, and Nitrosamine.
Replace the cup if you notice any signs of damage, deep scratches, or if the spout begins to show signs of structural wear.
The cup is a free-flow design. To minimize spills, ensure the baby is sitting upright and help them practice controlled tipping rather than turning the cup completely upside down.
Ensure the hinge area is clean and free from dried liquid or food residue that may be causing the plastic to stick.
Some liquids (like carrot or tomato-based drinks) can stain silicone. Wash immediately after use and avoid letting the cup soak for long periods.
To keep your Tommee Tippee First Cup in optimal condition, disassemble the cup fully before the first use. The cup is dishwasher safe, but placing it on the top rack is recommended to prevent warping. For sterilization, the components are safe for use in steam or cold water sterilisers. Always ensure the flip-down lid is fully clicked into the closed position before storing the cup in a diaper bag. Inspect the spout periodically for signs of wear or damage, especially as teeth begin to develop, and replace the unit if the spout shows deep tears.
