These U Nails are specifically designed for hammering into wood. Using them on other materials like brick or metal is not recommended and may require different types of fixings.

It is recommended to leave a small space (approximately the thickness of the wire/cable) between the staple and the material it's being driven into. This allows for easier access with a claw hammer for removal.

Ensure you are hitting the crown of the U Nail squarely with the hammer. Pre-drilling a small pilot hole, especially in harder woods, can help guide the staple and prevent splitting.

Select a U Nail size that appropriately accommodates the diameter of the wire or cable. For a tighter fit, you can gently squeeze the legs of the U Nail together slightly with pliers before hammering.

Use the claw of a hammer. Place the claw under the crown of the U Nail and lever upwards. Applying gentle pressure and rocking the hammer slightly can help loosen it. If the wood is soft, a thin piece of wood or cardboard can be placed under the hammer head to prevent damage.

While galvanised, extreme conditions can eventually affect the coating. Ensure the surface is clean and dry. Minor surface rust can sometimes be cleaned; for severe rust, replacement may be necessary.
