Yes, it is designed for efficient, fast power delivery to compatible mobile devices using the integrated Type A and Type C ports.
It fits standard wall boxes, but you should ensure your back-box has sufficient depth to accommodate the internal USB electronics.
The USB ports are powered when the main socket switch is set to the 'ON' position.
If you are comfortable with basic electrical work, it is a straightforward installation; however, always isolate the power and adhere to local electrical regulations.
Use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive sponges to prevent scratching.
The socket features built-in protection and enters a standby mode once the device is fully charged to prevent overcharging.
Check that the mains switch for the specific socket is in the 'ON' position and verify the cable used is functional.
Check that the mounting screws are tightened correctly and that the integrated gasket is sitting flush against the wall surface.
Ensure that the device is correctly inserted into the port and try using a high-quality data-capable USB cable.
Before starting, ensure the mains power is isolated at the consumer unit. Use the provided colour-coded terminals to match your existing ring main wiring: Earth (Green/Yellow), Live (Brown/Red), and Neutral (Blue/Black). Ensure the wall back-box is deep enough to accommodate the internal USB charging circuitry. Once installed, simply wipe the brushed steel finish with a soft, dry lint-free cloth to maintain its luster. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the metallic finish or the plastic inserts.
