Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These binoculars require no complex setup. Simply adjust the interpupillary distance by moving the two halves of the binocular body closer or farther apart until you see a single, clear image. Adjust the diopter on one eyepiece (usually the right) to compensate for any differences in your vision, and then focus using the central focusing wheel.
Compatibility: The Genesis Prominar binoculars are designed for direct visual observation. They are compatible with standard tripod adapters for more stable viewing during extended sessions, though one is not typically included.
Care: To maintain optimal performance:
- Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft lens brush or microfiber cloth to remove dust. For smudges, use a lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optics and a clean microfiber cloth. The Kowa KR coating helps repel fingerprints and water, making cleaning easier.
- Storage: Store in the provided case or a protective bag when not in use to prevent scratches and dust accumulation.
- Water Exposure: While waterproof, always dry the exterior with a soft cloth after exposure to rain or moisture. If submerged, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly.
- Nitrogen Purge: Avoid opening the binoculars, as this can compromise the nitrogen purge that prevents internal fogging.
