The Freefoam Grey PVC Architrave is designed for homeowners and professional tradespeople looking for a clean, low-maintenance finishing solution for door and window frames. Its primary benefit is the durable, moisture-resistant PVC construction that eliminates the need for painting or regular sanding, though users should note that the 6mm thickness requires a relatively flat mounting surface to avoid bowing.

The PVC finish is designed to be maintenance-free. While it can technically be painted with specialist PVC primers and paints, it is not recommended as it defeats the purpose of the low-maintenance finish.
A standard fine-toothed hand saw or a powered miter saw with a blade suitable for plastic or non-ferrous metals is ideal.
While PVC is weather-resistant, this product is specifically intended for interior architectural finishing. Consult the manufacturer for specific exterior-grade product lines.
The best approach is to cut miter joints at 45 degrees. Apply a small amount of superglue or PVC adhesive to the mitered edges to hold them tightly together while the main mounting adhesive cures.
6mm is standard for a slimline profile. It provides a clean finish against a wall but should be installed on relatively flat, plumb surfaces.
Ensure the wall surface is free of dust, grease, and loose paint before application.
Use a miter block for precise 45-degree cuts and consider using a colour-matched filler or silicone for minor gaps.
Apply more consistent pressure during the curing process, or ensure the underlying wall surface is level.
To install, ensure the door or window frame is clean and dry. Measure the required lengths and cut using a fine-toothed hand saw or a miter saw with a plastic-cutting blade to ensure a clean edge. Apply a professional-grade grab adhesive or silicone sealant in beads along the back of the trim, then press firmly against the wall. For corners, use a miter block to ensure a tight, professional joint. To maintain the finish, simply wipe down with a soft cloth and mild soapy water as needed; avoid abrasive scouring pads that could scratch the surface.
