Setup, Compatibility & Care
Outdoor Sowing:
- Prepare the soil by raking it until fine and crumbly, removing large stones.
- Sow seeds thinly, 1cm (1/2in) deep, in drills spaced 30cm (12in) apart.
- Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 15cm (6in) apart.
Indoor Sowing:
- Fill pots with free-draining compost.
- Sow seeds very thinly on the windowsill.
- For a continuous supply, sow at 4-week intervals.
Care:
- Watering: Plants can quickly run to flower if not kept watered. Ensure consistent moisture.
- Harvesting: Harvest young leaves as required, picking only a few from each plant to encourage further growth.
- Position: Sun or Semi Shade.
- Established Size: Up to 60cm height, up to 25cm spread.
Compatibility: Compatible with most free-draining composts and soil types. Suitable for windowsills, pots, containers, and garden borders.
