Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: To set your initial combination, the lock typically requires you to open it with a default code (often all zeros or a specific word). Once open, locate the reset mechanism, usually a small lever or button on the side or bottom of the lock body. Turn the dials to your desired word combination, then reset the mechanism. Ensure the dials are firmly set before closing the lock. Test the new combination multiple times before securing your item.
Compatibility: This padlock is designed for general-purpose locking and is compatible with most hasps and chains that accommodate its shackle size. It's suitable for lockers, gates, toolboxes, storage units, and general security needs.
Care: Keep the lock clean and dry when possible. Periodically, you can lubricate the dials and mechanism with a dry lubricant or graphite powder to ensure smooth operation, especially if used in dusty or humid environments. Avoid exposing the lock to harsh chemicals that could corrode the metal.
