Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The Glyph Atom EV comes preformatted for macOS. For Windows users, it will need to be reformatted. Connect the SSD to your computer using the provided USB Type-C to USB Type-C or USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable. If reformatting for Windows, use Disk Management in Windows or a utility like Disk Utility on macOS to erase and reformat the drive to NTFS or exFAT. Ensure you back up any important data before reformatting.
Compatibility: The drive is compatible with:
- macOS versions 10.10 Yosemite and later.
- Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and Vista.
- Thunderbolt 3 ports.
- USB 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2), USB 3.1, and USB 3.0 ports.
Care: Keep the drive in a dry environment. Avoid extreme temperatures. The aluminum casing acts as a heatsink; during heavy, sustained use, the drive may become warm, which is normal. Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or liquids. Ensure cables are handled with care to prevent damage to the connectors.
