The Freefoam 10mm Ogee Fascia Capping Board is an ideal solution for homeowners and professional contractors looking to upgrade existing timber fascias with a decorative, low-maintenance finish. This board provides a clean, professional aesthetic to both renovation and new build projects. While it is excellent for refreshing the appearance of a building exterior, users should note that for new build applications, it requires a 25mm thick sawn timber backing board to ensure proper structural integrity.

For renovations, you can use existing timber if it is sound. For new builds, you must use a 25mm sawn timber backing board.
You should use 50mm Polytop nails for all fixing points.
You will need 18 nails per 5-meter length to ensure adequate security.
Fixings must be placed at intervals no greater than 600mm.
Simply use a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
The board features a 40mm overall return leg.
Check that fixings are spaced at the recommended 600mm maximum and that the underlying timber is level.
Ensure 50mm Polytop nails are driven flush with the surface but do not overtighten, which can cause cracking.
Installation requires standard carpentry tools and specific hardware to ensure longevity. Always ensure the existing timber is rot-free before capping. If the wood is damaged, it should be repaired or replaced before installation. For fixings, use only 50mm Polytop nails to match the board finish and prevent corrosion.
Care is minimal; once installed, the boards can be cleaned periodically with a soft cloth and mild soapy water to remove surface grime. Avoid the use of abrasive cleaners or solvent-based chemicals that could damage the PVC finish. Ensure all cuts are made cleanly using fine-toothed saws to prevent chipping the Ogee edge.
