The MAM Easy Start Anti-Colic Bottles are generally suitable for most standard formulas. For thicker formulas, you may need to use a MAM teat with a faster flow rate (e.g., fast flow or cross-cut teat), which are sold separately.

While components can sometimes be placed on the top rack of a dishwasher, hand-washing with warm soapy water is recommended to ensure thorough cleaning, especially of the vented base and teat, and to prolong the life of the bottle. Always disassemble completely.

MAM teats are numbered (0, 1, 2, 3, X) corresponding to different flow rates. Newborns typically start with slow flow (size 0 or 1), while older babies may require medium (size 2) or fast flow (size 3) teats. The cross-cut (X) teat is for thicker liquids. Observe your baby's feeding cues; if they are struggling or getting frustrated, adjust the flow rate.

While the bottles are safe for microwave sterilization, it is generally not recommended to warm milk directly in the microwave due to the risk of uneven heating and creating "hot spots" which can scald a baby's mouth. It is safer to warm milk using a bottle warmer or by placing the bottle in a bowl of warm water. Always check the milk temperature before feeding.

For hygiene and safety, it is recommended to replace teats every 1-2 months, or sooner if they show any signs of wear, tears, stickiness, or discoloration.

Ensure the silicone valve is correctly and firmly seated within the plastic base, and that the entire vented base is screwed tightly onto the bottle body. Check for any milk residue or particles trapped between the base components.

Check that the vent in the base is clear and not blocked. Ensure the anti-colic valve is properly assembled. Also, verify that the teat's ventilation hole (usually on the rim of the teat) is not stuck together; gently squeeze it to open.

While the SkinSoft Teat has high acceptance, some babies may need time to adjust. Try offering the bottle when the baby is calm and not overly hungry. Ensure the milk temperature is appropriate. Consider trying a different flow rate teat if available.
