This 15m green CAT5e UTP network cable from connektgear is designed for reliable home and office networking, connecting devices like computers and printers to your router or switch for seamless internet access and local network participation. Its key benefit lies in its durable, snagless design with a slim, flush-moulded boot for easy installation in tight spaces and dense configurations, ensuring reduced cable stress and protection. A potential caveat is its 100Mbps speed limitation, which is ideal for everyday use but may not be sufficient for high-bandwidth applications.

This CAT5e cable supports data transfer speeds of up to 100Mbps (Fast Ethernet).
While it can physically connect to Gigabit Ethernet ports, its maximum supported speed is 100Mbps. For true Gigabit speeds (1000Mbps), you would need a CAT6 or higher rated cable.
UTP stands for Unshielded Twisted Pair. It means the cable does not have an outer foil or braid shielding, making it more flexible but less resistant to electromagnetic interference compared to STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) cables.
The flush moulded boot is designed to be as slim as the RJ45 connector itself. This makes it easier to plug the cable into devices with tight spaces or densely packed network panels without obstruction.
AWG stands for American Wire Gauge. A lower AWG number indicates a thicker wire. 24AWG means these conductors are relatively thick for an Ethernet cable, allowing for better conductivity and signal integrity.
This cable is designed for indoor use. It is made with a PVC jacket which may degrade when exposed to UV light and extreme temperatures found outdoors.
CAT6 cables are designed to support higher frequencies and therefore faster speeds (up to 1000Mbps or Gigabit Ethernet) and offer better performance for bandwidth-intensive applications compared to CAT5e's 100Mbps limit.
Ensure both ends of the cable are securely connected. Verify that the network device (router/switch) and the connected device are powered on and functioning. Try a different network port on your router/switch and test with another known working cable if possible.
This CAT5e cable supports up to 100Mbps. For speeds higher than 100Mbps, a CAT6 or higher cable is required. Check your internet service plan and router capabilities. Ensure no other devices on the network are consuming excessive bandwidth. Try restarting your modem and router.
Check for any debris or damage on the RJ45 connectors. Ensure you are using the correct port. The flush-moulded boot is designed for a slim profile; apply firm, even pressure until the connector clicks.
Setup: This is a Plug and Play device. Simply connect one RJ45 connector to your network device (e.g., computer, printer) and the other to your network hub (e.g., router, switch, modem). Ensure the connectors click securely into place.
Compatibility: This CAT5e cable is compatible with all standard RJ45 Ethernet ports. It works with Fast Ethernet (10/100Base-T) networking equipment. While it can physically connect to Gigabit Ethernet ports, data transfer will be limited to 100Mbps.
Care: To ensure longevity, avoid kinking or excessively bending the cable. Keep it away from heat sources and sharp objects. Clean the connectors gently with a dry, lint-free cloth if necessary. The snagless boots protect the connector clip, but care should still be taken during insertion and removal to avoid damaging the port.
