Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Initial Setup
- Unpack Carefully: Once your mattress arrives, carefully remove any packaging. Avoid using sharp objects that could damage the fabric.
- Position: Place the mattress onto your bed base. Ensure it's centered and aligned with the frame.
- Allow to Breathe: It's normal for a new mattress, especially one with natural fillings, to have a slight initial scent. Allow the mattress to air out in a well-ventilated room for a few hours, or even a full day, before making your bed.
Compatibility
This mattress is compatible with most standard bed bases, including solid platforms, slatted bases, and adjustable bed frames. For slatted bases, ensure the gaps between slats are no more than 7cm to provide adequate support and prevent mattress damage.
General Care & Maintenance
- Regular Flipping and Rotating: As a double-sided mattress, it is crucial to flip (turn it over) and rotate (spin head-to-toe) your mattress regularly. We recommend flipping and rotating weekly for the first three months, then monthly thereafter. This practice ensures even settlement of the natural fillings and prolongs the mattress's life.
- Cleaning: For spills or marks, lightly dab the area with a clean cloth dampened with mild soap and cold water. Avoid saturating the mattress. Allow it to air dry completely before covering.
- Protection: Use a good quality mattress protector to shield your mattress from spills, stains, and dust mites, helping to keep it hygienic and extend its life.
- Avoid Jumping: Refrain from jumping on the mattress, as this can damage the internal spring unit and fillings.
- Support: Ensure your bed base is in good condition and provides stable, even support to the mattress.
