The febi bilstein 49028 Wheel Stud is an essential heavy-duty replacement component designed for owners and technicians working on MERCEDES-BENZ and EVOBUS commercial vehicles. It provides a reliable, high-tensile connection for wheels, ensuring safety and structural integrity under significant load; however, professional installation is strongly recommended due to the precise knurl diameter and torque requirements necessary for heavy vehicle axle assemblies.

This stud is manufactured with a 10.9 tensile strength grade, suitable for heavy-duty commercial applications.
Yes, the febi bilstein 49028 kit includes the stud and the compatible nut.
No, this component is designed specifically for MERCEDES-BENZ and EVOBUS heavy-duty commercial vehicles with M22 sizing.
The coating is applied to provide high levels of corrosion resistance, protecting the stud from rust caused by moisture and road chemicals.
You should check for an M22 x 1.5 thread, a 22.1mm knurl diameter, and 110mm of length under the head.
Check the knurl diameter against your hub bore for debris or excessive wear; ensure you are using a hydraulic press for even seating.
Inspect the M22 x 1.5 threads for damage; ensure no debris is trapped in the thread pitch and use a thread chaser if necessary.
Before installation, verify the existing hub bore to match the 22.1mm knurl diameter. The stud should be pressed into the hub assembly; avoid using excessive impact force that might damage the threads or deform the knurl. Always clean the hub surface of debris, grease, or road salt residue before seating the new stud. Regularly inspect the zinc flake coating during annual brake or tire service to check for any signs of surface compromise, particularly in regions where road salts are frequently used. Ensure that the M22 x 1.5 thread remains clean and lightly lubricated according to your vehicle's service manual to prevent seizing.
