Ryobi Straight Scissors - RHCSS01

These scissors are designed for heavy-duty cutting and can handle materials such as thick cardboard, plastic packaging, fabric, rubber, and more. They are not intended for cutting metal wire or extremely hard objects.

The offset design keeps your hands and knuckles above the material you are cutting. This provides a more comfortable grip, improves control, and allows for easier cutting of thicker materials without your hand getting in the way.

The tape breaker is a small hook located near the pivot of the scissors. It allows you to easily puncture and cut packing tape on boxes without using the main blades, helping to preserve their sharpness for other cutting tasks.

It is not recommended to put these scissors in a dishwasher. The harsh detergents and high heat can damage the comfort grip handle and potentially affect the corrosion resistance of the blades. Hand washing and thorough drying are recommended.

After each use, wipe the blades clean with a damp cloth and dry them completely. Store the scissors in a dry place. For extended storage or in humid environments, a light application of mineral oil can help protect the stainless steel.

While versatile, these scissors are primarily designed for heavy-duty tasks. For very intricate or detailed craft work requiring extreme precision, smaller, more specialized scissors might be more suitable.

Ensure the pivot area is clean and free of debris. Apply a small amount of lubricating oil to the pivot point and work the blades back and forth.

Check for any residue buildup on the blades. Clean the blades thoroughly. If the issue persists, the blades may require sharpening.

Ensure the tape breaker hook is properly aligned with the tape. Apply firm, steady pressure when using the tape breaker.

Clean the affected area with a soft cloth and a mild abrasive cleaner (like baking soda paste). Dry immediately and apply a light coat of food-grade mineral oil for protection.
