Silky Replacement Blade - 144-18

This blade is optimized for cutting green, live wood, commonly found in pruning live branches and shaping shrubs.

This blade is designed to fit Silky F180 saw handles. Refer to the specific instructions for your Silky saw model for secure attachment. Ensure all screws or locking mechanisms are tightened.

It is not recommended to sharpen this blade. The teeth are impulse-hardened for extended sharpness and can be damaged by standard sharpening methods. Replacement is advised when sharpness diminishes.

Impulse-hardened teeth are heated and cooled rapidly to make them extremely hard and durable, lasting longer than conventional teeth. 'Non-set' means the teeth are straight and not bent outward, which contributes to a cleaner cut.

The blade length is 7.1 inches (180mm).

While it can cut dry wood, its tooth configuration (6.4 TPI) is primarily optimized for the smoother cutting action required for green wood. For primarily dry or hardwood, a saw with a different tooth pitch might be more efficient.

The actual weight of the blade is approximately 0.11 pounds (70 grams).

Ensure the taper-ground design is properly oriented and not obstructed by dense wood. Check that the blade is securely attached to the handle and not bent. Clear away excess debris from the cut line.

Wipe the blade immediately after use and store it in a dry place. If minor rust appears, gently scrub with a fine-grade steel wool and then apply a light coat of mineral oil. For significant rust, replacement may be necessary.

Clean sap and debris from the teeth. The impulse-hardened teeth are designed for longevity, but prolonged heavy use may eventually lead to dullness, requiring blade replacement.
